I got an email that I thought I’d share with y’all, cause I liked answering the question…
Hi there! I’m a big reader of Questions for Dessert, and have a question for you. Its about all of your lovely pictures of your meals that you share with us: do you think taking those pictures are helpful in your food choices and eating habits? I’m thinking about starting to do this, and wonder if you find it helpful.
Thanks!!
Leah

Hello Leah!
Yeah, I’ve found that taking pictures of everything is a great way of keeping myself accountable. Even though I don’t always post every picture, I do take a picture of everything I put into my mouth. So sometimes, on my phone, I find random pictures of a single mini Reese cup or 2 pretzels or something. It really helps me keep track too. Sometimes, especially if I’m in a restaurant, I don’t want to get out my tracker and write down what I eat. But I can get out my phone and take a picture, and people assume I’m checking messages or something. I feel like it causes a lot less attention.
Sometimes it also keeps me from eating something. I’ll think, “Do I really want to get out my phone/camera and take a picture of a piece of cake? What would my blog readers think if they saw this?” Sometimes it is a lazy thing too – do I really want to have to track down my phone? Or if I’ve left my purse at my desk and pass the cookie cart in the hallway of the hospital, I CAN’T get a cookie because I don’t have the ability to take a picture of it before I eat it, so I don’t eat it.
Thanks so much for the question! I’m toying with doing a challenge of posting all food every day for a week. If I did it, would you join? To see if it makes a difference for you?
Hope your Valentine’s Day was AWESOME!

So I’ve been thinking…who would be in for a whole week of posting food pics? Every single bite? Maybe starting on Monday the 23rd? Anyone in?
Alright, so here are today’s eats…
Coffee and a clif bar

I only ate 3 pieces of the sushi today. It wasn’t very good. Kinda sad. And, honestly? I got so busy at work that I didn’t think about eating until I got home. So I was starving then.

Dinner = Smashing Tomato. This pizza isn’t as bad as it looks. Very thin crust. Not a lot of cheese. The piece in the back is just bread. And the salad had an awesome viniagrette. Great, great dinner.

Nathan and I split a Clif bar for dessert…with some milk!

and my nightly tradition…
So who’s in for next week?
That’s MEEEE! I’m famous!
I’m all in on the challenge. I’ve even started with the picture taking. So far so good!
