the rhythm is gonna get ya!
Alright, folks. One week from today, Fat Bridesmaid will arrive in her lovely chariot and sweep me away to BlogHer. (We won’t leave next Wednesday, but she’ll get here then…why am I explaining so much? Am I talking?) I know a week isn’t time to do a serious crash diet, but I also expect to do my share of indulging while I’m in Chicago. So I’m making a plan for the next week. Very simple, but hopefully I’ll accomplish great things. Or at least damage control.
- I will exercise one hour every day. No excuses. No wussing out. I’ll just do it.
- I will continue Project ARMs – weights and scrubbing/lotioning every day. (Lotioning isn’t a word? really?)
- No pasta! I didn’t realize I was eating so much, but I can do without for 7 days. Unless I decide to have it on our anniversary dinner. That meal is excusable.
- In exchange for my upping the exercise, I’m also upping my calorie target from 1250 to 1400. I think that’s fair.
That’s it! Nothing earth-shattering there.
I’ve also updated my plan page with updated pictures!
I do need some help from y’all, though. I love to make Road Trip Soundtracks, but I need some suggestions for songs for our 6-ish hour drive to Chicago. So what’s your favorite road-tripping song?
KRISSIE! I just visited your “plan” page and OMG girl you LOOK FANTASTIC!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS on your progress!!!!!!!! I’M SO HAPPY FOR YOU GIRL!!!!
And you’re going to BlogHer?! WOOOOT! LUCKY GAL!
I think your plan is reasonable and realistic! 1 hour every day of exercise, no excuses, will earn you the extra indulgence and will help you accept them without guilt. Good plan!
Thanks for your comment on my post. You are completely right. My problem lately is that I haven’t been able to move past the platitudes of “knowing how” and “knowing what I need to do”. I think today is a different day all together and all because of all of you ;-)
I too just visted the “plan” page and you look awesome! GOod for you!
My travel music is crazy. I always start the road trip thinking I’ll need one type of music to keep me awake, keep me energized, and I ALWAYS end up listening to something else.
Lately I drive to: Lisa Hannigan, Jason Mraz, and the new Regina Spektor album. But you also can never go wrong with a good Journey mix. Pretend I didn’t say that.
A) I love the new Regina Spektor album. and B) Do not be embarrassed by Journey. They are a favorite of mine and Fat Bridesmaid!
Hi Krissie – I’m just visiting you from Amy’s challenge. You’re doing fantastic! I usually listen to my XM on long trips – I like the comedy channel and the 50s through 90s decades channels. 80s music is probably my favorite to drive to – it always makes me laugh and keeps me awake :)
Life is a highway by whoever sang it that’s not the country band that redid it. petty? tom petty? also the bangles. Just fyi i almost fell over when I read 1250 calories. you must have some killer self control!
I never liked the version that was in Cars. And I LOVE the Bangles! Thanks for the suggestions!
I like the classics from back in the day for road trips with girls: Ace of Base (hahah!), Cyndi Lauper, Debbie Gibson, etc. I also second The Bangles. BlogHer – and your road trip to it – sounds so fun!
You look awesome, btw! You’re clearly toning up too :)
I haven’t thought of Ace of Base in years!
Have a wonderful and safe road trip!
