I just love my mom. She is sweet, a little bit shy sometimes, can be silly, and is always hilarious. She has a way of mixing up words (that a college friend of mine identified as spoonerisms) and most of the time we can figure out what she’s talking about. (“Neil’s gonna kick Keith!” instead of “Nick’s gonna kill Keith!” etc.) She taught me how to love people by serving them. She always took care of us without a complaint and never made it look like any work. To this day, she sets out my dad’s clothes and keeps our favorite foods in the house just in case we happen to drop by. She’s never owned a dishwasher, can cook like nobody else, and makes the best salad in the world.
Mom also knows how to put me in my place. When I need it. We were on the phone yesterday and I was whining about the scale. I have been working so hard and all I want is for it to show me under 200. That’s all I want. She encouraged me to think about how my clothes are fitting and how much stronger I am… yadda yadda yadda. And I started the whine. She quickly shut me up. “Krissie Ann Carr Michael!” That’s extra bad. “Krissie Ann” means I’m in trouble and “Tony Carr Michael” is how she always refers to my dad when he’s in trouble. So “Krissie Ann Carr Michael” told me that she meant business. She told me that she is proud of me and I need to just keep on keeping on and ignore the stupid number. So I did. And I ran. And I followed that up with a stellar day today.
I just love my mom. (even though I have serious crazy eye in this picture.)

Mom also sent me this in the mail. It is an ad for a cell phone company. It also happens to look a lot like my (fat) Farley cat.
Sis and Nate – When did you put poor Farley to work? :) Mom
It is even funnier seeing this here than the actual postcard.
I love random mail from Mom. Sigh.
Awww! Claaaaassic Krissie’s mom.
Seriously though dude, what DOES she put in that salad?!
aww . . . your mom sounds like the biggest sweetheart!
Sometimes we need somebody to give us a swift kick to the backside. She sounds awesome!
Aw, I just love your mom too!!!!!
Mom’s have a way of putting on the right track. I love moms.
