Time for my BlogapaLOSE check-in! I hope it’s okay that I’m not posting my weight because, after all, I’m scale-free until November 3rd. But I will show my progress picture for the week!

I know this isn’t the picure you’re used to. Its not from a bathroom. And these are my pajamas. But this is important.
The shirt is my blue “gauge shirt.” One of my favorite shirts ever. I kept it from my first round of skinny. And I’ve put it on so many times in the last 5 years. It fits now. If it weren’t for the horrible bleach spots and other grease stains, I would wear it in public. Probably a lot. And the pajama pants? I pulled them out of my “skinny box” just to see how close they were to fitting. They fit. And I slept in them. And they are wonderful.
I’m starting to really look forward to the day when my skinny box is empty. When everything fits. I know I have 20 pounds to go for that to be the case, but I know I’ll get there. I’m not worried about how long it takes me to get there. I just know I will.
So do any of you have a skinny box? Does it encourage or discourage you?
Have a great week!
First, I read your posts often. Not sure how I first found you, but I thoroughly enjoy your writing. Thank you. Congratulation on your progress. I do have skinny boxes and they can be a blessing when something is set free from the box. I like to think of it as shopping in my closet.
Yes, I have a bunch of clothes I try on every so often to gauge my weight loss. I especially like to pull them out when the scale is being cruel, and I am certain that I am still losing. Recently I pulled out a pair of jeans that fit so I hung them with my pants. Almost a week later I put them on and stood in front of the mirror to admire myself. I looked and thought OH YUCK! I kept looking to figure out why I didn’t like them even though they fit and I realized–Oh my God these are MOM JEANS!!! I have worked too hard to wear bad fashion!!!! So I took them off in a flash and threw them in the donate pile. Just because they fit doesn’t mean I need to wear them! That was a message I didn’t always live by when the scale was going up—but you can bet I am when the scale is going down!!!
I have a pair of jeans that I will absolutely not part with. I bought them from Express when I lost 28 pounds a few years ago, and I can still remember standing in the dressing room, tears brimming, because I was so proud I had reached my goal. They still look brand new, and while I have a ways to go before they will zip up, I am determined to wear them again!
Congratulations on getting to your skinny box! I know that is an amazing feeling, and from following your blog, you have done so well with the running and everything!
Hooray for fitting in your skinny clothes! I have a huge walk-in closet with mini-wardrobes in sizes 18-34. Currently hovering in the 28 section. The 24 section is my largest collection, so can’t wait to get into those again, then to buy a new wardrobe after the 20s because there’s only a few of those (and 18s).
You’re doing great!
Wow! Congratulations!! I do have a box of smaller clothes but nothing in a skinny category. I have dedicated boxes of clothes in the next 2 – 3 sizes. My smallest item is a little black dress in a size 18. How often do you try something on in the skinny box? Once a week, monthly, or after you lose so many lbs or inches?
I have a skinny suitcase and I delve into it from time to time. I am also making certain that I don’t keep a fat suitcase. As my clothes become too big for me, they’re OUT. I’m not going back to that size ever!
You look wonderful!
