you can do the job when you’re in town

Sorry this is a few days late – let’s blame it on the combination of lack of time around internet.

So we did a 5K on Thanksgiving morning! It was so exciting!

Nathan and I had been planning on doing it for a while. At the last minute, we got some company.

My (pregnant!) sister-in-law, her dog, and my Mom walked the course. I was so proud of both of them!

And my brother Zak from Kansas decided to run with us! He is happier than he looks. He just thinks he has to be tough.

It was much easier than the course last week. Closer to flat. Their pace was very challenging. But just when I was ready to back our pace way off, we ran into (ha! ran!) an old friend of ours who is getting married. So I was distracted for about half a mile and then I was ready to finish strong! (There we are!)

Mom and Leah (and baby…and Lily the puppy!)

And most of the family after the race. The mama-to-be had to pee. She misses all the fun things.

We finished in 35:12 (a nice improvement from 36:59 just a week before) and I got an awesome pink t-shirt! AND we got mentioned in the paper thanks to my Dad’s gift of gab.

So anyone gonna be in the Ashland area next Thanksgiving? It’s a new tradition and we’d love to have you there!
