i took the good times, i’ll take the bad times

Ugly, ugly, ugly.

Alright, let me make sure you know what you’re looking at. This is my food log weekly graph. The goal line is 1200 calories. Green means good. Red show how far over goal I went. (And the “over weekly budget” number is before today is factored in.)

The good? I counted every bite. Every single bite. I didn’t leave out what embarrassed me.

The bad? Dude, just look at it.

The ugly? Will be determined when I hop on the scale in the morning.

The why? Easy. I didn’t plan. I ate what I pulled out of the freezer or what sounded good at the time. And since I didn’t follow my eating plan, I really didn’t follow my running plan either.

Blah, blah, blah.

The moral of the story? Plan, Krissie. When I plan, I succeed.

What I’m doing about it? The plan is made. The grocery list is made. I will shop on my way home from work tomorrow.

Cook. Pack lunches. Run. Repeat.

Amen.

What are the keys to your success? Do you get easily distracted just like me? How hard is it for you to just get back on?

And I’m looking for recipes for next week! What’s your favorite go-to recipe? I want to make it!

  1. Hi! I have some words of wisdom on my blog that is just about what you are saying here. Just move forward girl. What is done is done. You know what you can do today to prevent what happened yesterday!

Have a good time shopping at the grocer!

  2. I’m looking at this and I’m thinking, am I crazy, but you rarely went over 1600 calories! You shouldn’t beat yourself up over this!
It’s really a good thing for your body to mix up the calories so your body doesn’t get adjusted to too little food.

I mean, I DO applaud your discipline. It’s really paid off for you, you look SO slim in your latest photos!

You are awesome, be less hard on yourself and keep going!

    • I understand what you’re saying. And that math makes sense for a lot of people. But I know my body. I lose at1200. Over that = gain. And the damage? 4 pound gain this week.

But thanks for the compliment! My body is changing and I am thankful for that!

  3. This happens to me too still. Practice practice practice. I hate feeling bloated and icky. I need to put thought into my food or else that happens.

Looking at the above, and I’ll preface this by saying, all bodies are different, you obviously didn’t gain 4 pounds of fat. Maybe half a pound, but I doubt it’s more than that. It’s bloat and a few days of eating well and exercising will take it back off.

A pound is approximately 3,500 calories. For some ppl the math varies depending on your metabolism and weight but that’s pretty trusted . I find I am much more sensitive at lower weights to seeing fluid fluctuations especially after eating well and then not well.

Hope you are starting new month out on a good foot!

  4. Krissie – I left a couple of recipes on your food blog. Let me know if you try them. Even the more complicated one is pretty easy. I think you will like them both! I am proud of you girl, you keep me inspired!
