Seal the sole of the shoe with cling film or tape. Use the sole flap as a template to trace out the sole on fondant and place the cut out fondant on the shoe to dry. 🔎 How to make fondant lace without mold?

If you can find some lace with a deep pattern, you can roll a sheet of fondant over it to emboss the pattern. Then, you can take a small cutter or straws of various sizes and cut pieces out of your sheet of lace for added dimension. Plastic lace works great if you can find it. I've seen it in fabric stores and craft stores.

Roll the fondant in your hands to create a crease free ball. Turn the ball into a pear shape, elongate the pear to tapered at the bottom about 3mm to 5mm, leaving a wide enough top to fit under the heel form, about 2cm. Smooth the heel with fondant smoothers. Carefully and slowly twist a skewer through the top of the heel to the bottom.

Roll out sugarpaste to a 1-2 mm thickness, cut out the middle strap and make a stitching along the edges of the piece. Attach it to the sole using edible glue. You want the distance between the strap and the piece called the shoe top to be about the same as the width of the strap. Let dry for a couple of hours before moving on to next steps.

Roll out a thin piece of gumpaste, and using the sole template cut around it with the fondant cutter. Cut out and fold your support template, using some thin card. Lay your shoe sole on it, as pictured. Roll a ball of gumpaste, and start shaping it into the heel, you will need to make the heel to the height of the shoe support.

Measure in inner side of your heel and make the plastic form the same height. Once formed, secure with tape. Now that your heel is dry, turn it right side up on your styrofoam and secure while you prepare your sole.

High Heel 3-d Mold. Step 2 - You will need to trim the mold and cut out the section that you would place your foot into if it were a real shoe. I normally write on the mold for customers so there is no doubt which parts need to be removed. I trim about a good inch to inch and 1/2 all the way around the mold.

If you do not have these products and need a quick trick to make fondant dry faster, preheat the oven. Yes, you can actually put your pieces of fondant in the oven for several minutes to accelerate its drying. Of course, you should watch at all times that the pieces of fondant do not become to dry, cracked or burnt. When the oven is hot, reduce the power and leave the fondant on the tray and bake for 20 minutes.

Air-drying fondant can take up to 36 hours, depending on thickness. Make your fondant 3-5 days before you plan on serving your cake to allow for adequate drying time. Set aside more drying time for homemade fondant. Homemade fondant takes several days to fully harden but can be solid enough to build on within 24 hours.
