This usually involves about 10-15 minutes of mixing (see why hand-whisking would be terrible?) Start adding the butter to the meringue in tablespoon sized chunks. Wait until each chunk is incorporated before adding the next. After all the butter is added, add the cream cheese in the same way.

In the heat-proof bowl of an electric mixer, combine: 2 egg whites. 1/2 cup granulated white sugar. Place the bowl over a pot of gently simmering water and heat the egg white-sugar mixture, whisking constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is hot to the touch, about 160˚F.

Put your cream cheese in a bowl and whip it on HIGH to make it smooth and creamy. Pass thru it with a spatula just to make sure there are no pesky lumps. Keep whipping. Once it’s nice and smooth, add your finished SMBC in batches, mixing on high (1/2 or you can do 1/3 if you are doubling the above ratios).

What is Swiss Meringue Buttercream? Though more involved than an American buttercream, Swiss meringue buttercream (SMBC) is the easiest of the meringue buttercreams. It involves cooking eggs and sugar over a double boiler, whipping them into a meringue, then adding butter and flavourings.

To make a milkshake without ice cream, mix milk, vanilla, and chocolate syrup in your blender for 15-20 seconds. Add sugar and blend for an additional 5-10 seconds, then pour in your ice cubes and blend again until the milkshake is smooth. Be careful not to overblend the ice, though, or your milkshake will be runny.
