I made camo fondant just last night to cover a 12 in. round cake. after making several shades of brown and green, i just tore off pieces and arranged them onto my Wilton roll & cut mat. i then ran my rolling pin over the blotches in order to meld the colors together. This created the PERFECT camo pattern.

Step 2: Crumb coat the cake. If you are only adding camouflage to the sides of the cake, make sure to have the top of your cake frosted in buttercream smoothly up to the edges. Step 3: Pipe the frosting into abstract shapes, taking care not to have the same color touching itself. Step 4: Ensure that the sides are completely covered with frosting.

2. Heat the gelatin over simmering water until it melts. Pour about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of water into a pan and turn the burner to medium. When the water begins to simmer, place the bowl with the gelatin in the pan so it sits over the water. Continue to heat the gelatin gently until it melts.

Begin by placing 4 cups (8 oz.) of mini marshmallows in a large bowl, along with 2 tablespoons of water. Microwave them on high for 1 minute. After 1 minute the marshmallows may look the same, but stir them and you’ll notice they are molten. Stir until the entire bowl is a smooth, even consistency.
