For the donut holes: Separate each biscuit from can. Cut each biscuit evenly into 4 pieces and roll into balls. Fill a saucepan or dutch oven 1 1/2 inches with vegetable oil. Heat to 350 degrees F over medium heat. Fry donut holes in batches of 4 to 5 at a time, turning with tongs while frying to brown evenly. Place on a plate lined with paper towels.

Cut the biscuits into 4 equal quarters and then roll them into balls. Melt the butter in a small bowl, and then mix the cinnamon and sugar together in a separate bowl. Drench the dough balls into the butter and then roll them around in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Line them all up in your dish and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Heat 2 to 3 inches of oil in a deep heavy duty pot to 360°F. Remove biscuits from can and separate onto cutting board. Use a small biscuit cutter or soda cap to cut holes in the center of each biscuit. Fry whole donut dough and donut holes in batches, typically about 1 minute per side.

Lay out the biscuits on a cutting board and with a 1-1/2-inch round cookie or biscuit cutter, cut out a hole from the middle of each biscuit. Fry them in the oil until golden and then flip with tongs to fry the other side. You can even fry the donut holes. Drain on paper towels and then toss in the cinnamon-sugar or glaze and sprinkle as desired.

Donut Hole Recipe. Here’s the super hard step-by-step donut hole recipe. I mean, people, this is hard. Open the can of biscuits. I usually give it a good whack on the side of the counter. I learned this from my mother. I used a can of “jumbo” biscuits, but it doesn’t really matter how many are in the can.

Step 3: Fry the dough. Once the biscuits are prepped, fry a few of them at a time until golden brown—about 1 minute per side. Once cooked, remove the doughnuts from the oil and drain ’em on paper towel. Step 4: Fill the doughnuts. Cut a small hole in the tip of a pastry bag and insert a small pastry tip. (Don’t have a pastry bag? Buy one here.)

Using a 1-inch-diameter round cookie cutter, cut out the center of each biscuit. (Save the scraps to make bite-size doughnut holes.) Drop the doughnuts into the hot oil and cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until golden brown, turning doughnuts if necessary.

2 quarts oil for deep frying. 1 (10-ounce) can refrigerated Pillsbury Grands buttermilk biscuit dough. 1 cup sugar. Directions. Heat oil in deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Separate out the biscuits and cut a hole in the middle of each one, like you would a doughnut. Carefully slide doughnuts into hot oil.
